📣 Join us on Saturday, May 30th from 9AM–12PM as we come together to volunteer in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District! The 25th annual CID Spring Clean is a community day of service dedicated to clean and beautification projects around the neighborhood.

Get Involved:
🧹 Volunteer: sign up for litter pick-up, graffiti cover-up, window cleaning, weeding, mulching, and other beautification projects across Chinatown, Japantown, and Little Saigon. Volunteers will receive a free event T-shirt (design above), breakfast, lunch, and community service hours. Sign up here.
🤝 Donate: your support will help us engage volunteers, purchase sanitation supplies, and support our work to maintain a clean & safe CID neighborhood! Donate here.

🏆 Street Pole Banner Design Contest Winners
After receiving an incredible response of more than 100 entries, counting up votes from the general public, and consulting with neighborhood businesses, residents, and community organizers, - CIDBIA and SDOT are excited to announce the winners of the CID Street Pole Banner Design Contest:

CIDBIA is seeking qualified Safety & Maintenance Ambassadors (SAM) to serve as a frontline, non-law enforcement presence focused on de-escalation, service connection, and visible neighborhood stabilization.

Position Type: Part Time, Full Time, & Seasonal positions available
Pay Rate: $25.00-$30.00/hour

Since March 1st, 2026 The CIDBIA Safety Ambassadors have recorded over 160 unique interactions across the CID and Little Saigon - from wellness checks and outreach, to de-escalations, property damage reports, and business check-ins. Their data helps us better understand everyday conditions in the neighborhood and how to respond.
CIDBIA, SCIDpda, and Friends of Little Sài Gòn are also advancing CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) projects, helping businesses repair windows and doors, install gates, and improve security lighting.

In partnership with Seattle Public Utilities Clean City Division, Seattle Surface Cleaners, Waste Management, and Fleet Genius, CIDBIA crews made significant progress in February:
6,732 lbs. of garbage removed
1,078 pieces of recycling collected
920 biohazards cleared (human & pet waste)
144 needles/sharps safely disposed
208 overflow litter cans/dumpsters addressed
211 bulky items hauled from right-of-way
163 instances of broken glass cleaned
2,074 sq. ft. of graffiti removed across CID businesses & properties
SPU also continues weekday alley pressure washing to keep streets safe and welcoming.
